Bonsai Workshops
3 hr. All Levels Workshops 12:00-3:00pm Saturdays - Beginner to Advance.
Come make a tree.. The bonsai workshop covers the start to finish process of successfully creating a bonsai tree. I will discuss the different styles of bonsai and the step by step process of how to create a tree and also the care needed to patiently grow your design. This is a hands on workshop and you will be trimming branches and repotting your tree. You will go home with a completed Bonsai tree.
Everything needed for the class is here. The class cost is $40. I have trees and pots for purchase but you can bring your own bushy tree and bonsai pot, if preferred. I typically supply Juniper Trees as they are easy to work with and grow well in this climate.
The trees and pots are an additional cost and range from $20 to $45 each depending on the size. There is no mark up on these items, that is simply my cost for supplying them for the class. The tools, soil, wire and other materials will be supplied at no charge. You are welcome to bring your own tree and/or pot. Please don’t bring a Charlie Brown tree that has no leaves, I will tell you to simply let it grow.
This is a fun and informative outdoor workshop. Participants sometimes bring beverages to sip on during the workshop.
Class instructor is David Patri, owner of Seaweed and Gravel. David has been studying bonsai since 1995 and teaching workshops since 2012.
