Bonsai Workshops

Come make a tree.. The bonsai workshop covers the start to finish process of successfully creating a bonsai tree. I will discuss the different styles of bonsai and the step by step process of how to create a tree and also the care needed to patiently grow your design. This is a hands on workshop and you will be trimming branches and repotting your tree. You will go home with a completed Bonsai tree.

You don't have to bring anything to the workshop, we have the trees, pots, soil, tools, wire, etc. I typically supply Juniper, Boxwood or Pine Trees as they are easy to work with and grow well in this climate. The cost of nursery stock plants and pots has gone up so I allow students to bring their own tree and pot for the basic ticket. The Small Tree and Pot ticket is usually a 1 gallon size tree and around an 6"-7" pot. The Medium Tree and Pot ticket is a tree with more age and growth and a pot that is around 8"-10". The Large Tree and Pot ticket is an established tree specimen with some girth to the trunk and a pot around 12"-15".

You are welcome to bring your own tree and/or pot. Please don’t bring a Charlie Brown tree that has no leaves, I will tell you to simply let it grow. You are welcome to bring your own bushy tree/shrub and bonsai pot, if preferred with the basic ticket. The tools, soil mix, screens, wire are all included in the basic ticket.

This is a fun and informative workshop. Ages for the workshop are 6 and up!
